Digital creator known as Nihan accused her boyfriend, forex trader Trevor Gichuru – also known as Flossin – of beating her with a metal rod during a domestic dispute.
Nihan posted updates from her hospital bed, saying she suffered a serious head wound, a skull injury and a fractured hand.
Former Nairobi governor Mike Sonko publicly announced he would provide Nihan with free legal representation and would involve the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) and the Judiciary to pursue accountability.
Sonko described the alleged attack as an attempted murder and said the case required urgent attention, echoing his history of championing justice cases on social media.
According to Nihan’s account, Flossin struck her repeatedly on the head with an iron bar while intoxicated, after which she fled the home with the help of another online personality, Mali ya Kibe.
Reports indicated that Flossin visited a police station to lodge a counter‑complaint but was arrested following Nihan’s allegations; however, it remained unclear whether formal charges had been filed.
Nihan also claimed that a Mercedes‑Benz gifted by Flossin was never registered in her name and was intended solely for publicity.
Sonko’s offer includes keeping his doors open to Nihan and her family, signalling a willingness to coordinate with law enforcement and the courts as the case proceeds.
