Former Nairobi County Chief Officer Geoffrey Mosiria fell ill and collapsed during an evening meeting in Nairobi on Thursday, 29 October.

Activist Duke Mainga Echate, who was present, said he, along with activist Morara Kebaso and a colleague identified as Mirina, rushed Mosiria to a hospital.

The specific nature of Mosiria's illness has not been disclosed by the county government or his family.

Mosiria's admission comes less than a week after Governor Johnson Sakaja signed a circular on 21 October removing him from his role as Chief Officer for Public Participation, Citizen Engagement and Customer Service.

Zipporah Njeri Mwangi was appointed in an acting capacity to fill the vacant chief officer position following Mosiria's dismissal.

Mosiria had been active on social media after his removal, commenting on his work overseeing cleanliness in Nairobi's central business district and on a halted night construction project that later collapsed on 23 October.

A video circulating online, watermarked @NAIROBI_JUICE, shows indoor hospital footage with on‑screen text confirming his admission, accompanied by a gospel song.

Supporters and online commentators have posted well‑wishes for Mosiria’s recovery, though no official statement from the county government has been issued.
