Geoffrey Mosiria, who was removed from his role as County Chief Officer for Public Participation, Citizen Engagement and Customer Service on Wednesday, October 21, used a Sunday Facebook post to describe the abrupt shift in his daily life.
He noted that he is now accustomed to a quieter schedule, contrasting the demanding pace of his former county office with a new rhythm that feels markedly different.
Despite the loss of a high‑paying position, Mosiria said he will continue grassroots work, focusing on rescue operations and community support for ordinary Nairobi residents.
He also reaffirmed his intention to contest the Nairobi governorship in the 2027 General Election, stating that his campaign will not be derailed by his recent dismissal.
County Secretary Machel Waikenda confirmed that Zipporah Njeri Mwangi, the Chief Officer for Culture, Arts and Tourism, will assume Mosiria’s duties in an acting capacity.
Mosiria’s removal followed his public declaration that he would challenge Governor Johnson Sakaja for the 2027 Nairobi gubernatorial seat, a move that placed him in direct competition with the incumbent.
Public reaction to his Facebook post was largely supportive, with many Nairobi residents urging him to pursue his political ambitions.
