Suzanne Silantoi serves as Nairobi County’s Executive Committee (CEC) member for Health, Wellness and Nutrition, overseeing 124 health facilities, more than 4,000 health workers and the county school‑feeding programme that delivers over 300,000 meals daily.
Before joining the health docket, Silantoi was appointed CEC for Inclusivity, Public Participation and Customer Service when Governor Johnson Sakaja announced his cabinet in October 2022.
A cabinet reshuffle on 13 July 2023 moved her to the health portfolio, replacing Dr Anastasia Nyalita and expanding her responsibilities within the county government.
Silantoi’s academic credentials include a Master’s in Public Policy Analysis from the University of York (UK) and a certificate in Political Economic Risk Analysis from Stellenbosch University (South Africa).
Silantoi entered politics early, contesting the Nairobi Senatorial seat as an independent candidate at age 23 in the 2017 elections, where she was defeated by Johnson Sakaja.
Her background also includes a Bachelor of Music from Kenyatta University (2015) and a career as a policy analyst with Africa Practice before entering county service.
In April 2026, Silantoi gazetted new boards for county hospitals, appointing notable figures such as Calvince Okoth (known as Gaucho) to the Mama Lucy Hospital board.
Later that year, former Chief Officer Geoffrey Mosiria alleged on the Iko Nini podcast that Silantoi was incompetent and frequently absent, claims that have not been independently verified.
