Emirates Holidays, the tour‑operation arm of Emirates Airline, has entered into a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Kenya Association of Travel Agents (KATA).
The agreement is designed to increase outbound travel from Kenya, focusing on Dubai and a range of other destinations served by Emirates’ global network.
KATA’s network of more than 300 travel agencies will gain deeper access to Emirates Holidays’ portfolio of destinations, experiences and packaged holidays.
Travel professionals will receive product deep‑dives, destination insights and promotional tools to expand the choice and value offered to Kenyan customers.
The MoU also calls for joint marketing, trade webinars and participation in industry events such as the 2026 Arabian Travel Market in Dubai.
KATA member agencies will be able to develop targeted packages using Emirates Holidays’ offerings, giving them greater capability to promote and sell these products.
Dubai is highlighted as a primary leisure destination, but the partnership will also showcase other locations including Bali, Maldives, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Hong Kong, Greece, Finland, Chile, Jamaica and Australia.
The MoU was signed at the Emirates Travel Store in Nairobi by Maitha Albutehi, Business Development Manager for Emirates Holidays – Africa Markets, and Dr Joseph Kithitu, Chairman of KATA.
Emirates Country Manager in Kenya, Christophe Leloup, and Sales Manager Nafisa Salim attended the signing and highlighted the airline’s commitment to long‑term strategic partnerships with the Kenyan travel trade.
Leloup noted that the MoU follows the launch of Emirates’ third daily Nairobi service in July, which is expected to support leisure travel growth and increase passenger numbers.
KATA Chairman Dr Kithitu described the MoU as a strategic step to strengthen Kenyan agents’ role in the expanding outbound market and to diversify their product offerings.
Emirates Holidays positions the partnership as part of its broader African strategy to raise product awareness, strengthen distribution and drive incremental bookings across both air and land components of its travel packages.
