The Ethics and Anti‑Corruption Commission (EACC) obtained Nairobi court orders that restrict a land parcel and six motor vehicles owned by Embu County MCA Peter Muriithi Nyaga, pending a recovery suit over KSh 111,577,188.75 allegedly paid irregularly to firms linked to the legislator.

Justice Biomdo granted the preservation orders on 29 October 2026, prohibiting Nyaga from selling, transferring or otherwise disposing of the identified assets while the case proceeds.

The court directed the Land Registrar and the National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) to place formal restrictions on the land parcel and the six vehicles, ensuring they cannot be transferred, leased or encumbered until resolution.

The EACC’s suit, filed on 28 August 2026, names Nyaga and six companies—Truco Enterprises Ltd, Peanco Ltd, Njewaco Ltd, Hasoco Ltd, Hiwco Ltd and Isaac & Timothy Company Ltd—as respondents for allegedly receiving the disputed funds through Embu County contracts.

Investigators say Nyaga’s companies secured county contracts in direct conflict of interest, and that part of the contested money was used to purchase land parcel Mbeti/Kiamuringa/49, registered under Isaac & Timothy Company Ltd.

The six motor vehicles identified as bought with the same funds are registered under the numbers KDD 932H, KDC 857D, KDL 451F, KCQ 172W, KHMA 624H and ZF‑9309.

The preservation orders aim to keep the assets intact and available for potential recovery should the EACC succeed in its claim against Nyaga and the associated firms.
