Comprehensive security and traffic management plans have been activated for the Mashujaa Day celebrations at Kipchoge Keino Stadium in Eldoret on Tuesday.
Rift Valley Regional Commissioner Dr. Abdi Hassan said security agencies have stepped up patrols, added personnel to identified hotspots and improved inter‑agency coordination to keep the event safe and orderly.
The deployment covers the stadium, designated parking zones, accommodation sites, critical installations and other areas expected to attract large numbers of visitors.
Motorists and visitors are urged to obey traffic officers, follow posted signs and cooperate with security personnel to facilitate smooth movement around the city.
National Government Administration Officers and National Youth Service staff will assist the public, particularly during and after the ceremonial march‑past.
Uniformed police, plain‑clothes officers and traffic police will be positioned around the venue and its neighbourhoods to maintain order.
Patrols will continue before, during and after the celebrations, with extra personnel stationed at security hotspots for rapid response.
Security at hotels and other accommodation facilities has also been reinforced, with support from neighbouring counties.
Dr. Hassan warned that anyone attempting to exploit the national event for criminal activity will face firm legal action, emphasizing that the celebration does not grant immunity from the law.
He described the security climate in the Rift Valley as favourable, noting progress in restoring peace to areas that were previously affected by banditry.
