Images and video of DreamYard Preparatory School in the Bronx, New York, have been shared online after 15‑year‑old Ghanaian student Javits Frimpong was shot and killed while travelling to school on October 29, 2026.
The footage, posted on TikTok by a channel called The Streets of Accra, shows the school’s multi‑storey building, walkways, fenced compound and police officers present on the premises.
Additional photographs display classrooms with desks, students in lessons and a spacious dance studio, offering a broader view of the learning environment.
DreamYard Preparatory School is located at 240 East 172nd Street in the Bronx and serves grades nine through twelve, sharing its building with other schools, according to the New York City Department of Education.
Javits’ father, Thomas Frimpong, has publicly alleged that his son was previously involved in a bullying incident, noting that two students were suspended after an altercation with Javits.
Students at DreamYard staged a walkout on November 2, 2026, to mourn Javits and call for stronger protections against bullying and gun violence.
New York authorities are investigating the shooting, seeking three teenage suspects, but have not confirmed any link between the earlier school altercation and the killing.
The dates when the released photographs and video were captured have not been independently verified.
