The Aliko Dangote Foundation (ADF) launched a Student Share Grant Initiative that awards eligible Nigerian tertiary students ten free shares in the Dangote Refinery after they subscribe to at least ten shares themselves.
Eligibility is limited to students aged 18 or older enrolled in public or private tertiary institutions across Nigeria, and participants must complete a verification process on the foundation’s dedicated platform.
The Dangote Refinery IPO opened on 14 September 2026 and will close on 13 October 2026, with each share priced at N525 (approximately KSh49).
To meet the minimum subscription, a student must purchase ten shares, costing N5,250 (about KSh490).
After verification and subscription are confirmed, the foundation funds an additional ten shares in the student’s name at no charge, giving the participant at least 20 shares in total.
ADF says the programme aims to combine financial‑literacy education with real‑world capital‑market participation, helping students develop saving and investment habits.
ADF chief executive Zouera Youssoufou explained that the initiative bridges the gap between learning financial concepts and applying them, giving participants practical experience from verification through allotment.
