On 28 October 2026 CIC Insurance Group announced the rollout of three digital channels – the My CIC app, an online portal and the USSD code *304# – aimed at simplifying access to its insurance and asset‑management services across Kenya and neighbouring markets.

The USSD option offers an accessible alternative for customers who do not use smartphones, while the app and portal provide expanded digital functionality for users who prefer a graphical interface.

Through the same platforms, agents and brokers can use a “Super App” to view client portfolios, generate quotes, cross‑sell products from CIC General, CIC Life, CIC Impact (micro‑insurance) and CIC Asset Management, and monitor commissions.

Intermediaries are also provided with an attributable referral link that enables direct onboarding of new customers via the digital channels.

Group Managing Director and CEO Patrick Nyaga said the initiative strengthens CIC’s Insurtech proposition and gives customers greater choice in how they interact with financial services.

Two 24‑hour contact centres support the channels – one dedicated to health insurance and another handling all other customer engagements – to ensure assistance is always available.

The Insurance Regulatory Authority has highlighted digitalisation and user‑friendly platforms as key enablers of greater insurance inclusion, aligning with CIC’s goal of narrowing Kenya’s insurance protection gap.

Agency owner Stephen Muriithi of Earnest Insurance Agency noted that his firm collaborated with CIC’s digital team to co‑create the agency module for both the Super App and the online portal.
