For more than two decades Brookside Dairy has sponsored the Kenya Secondary Schools Sports Association (KSSSA) games, contributing roughly KSh 30 million per edition to cover kits, logistics and related costs for a range of sports including basketball, hockey, rugby and athletics.

Through the Brookside Strathmore University Sports Scholarship the company allocates up to six fully‑paid university places each year to secondary‑school students who excel in basketball or hockey and meet strong academic requirements.

Scholarship recipients join Strathmore University’s competitive teams, allowing them to pursue higher education while continuing their sporting development without interruption.

Away from the pitch, Brookside runs the Mathletes Programme, a nationwide mathematics competition that draws hundreds of schools and tens of thousands of secondary‑school students each year, aiming to change the perception that maths is unusually difficult.

Top performers in the maths contest receive university scholarships—often to Strathmore University in maths‑related fields—as well as cash awards for their schools and mathematics departments.

Form‑three students who finish among the winners also obtain one‑year fee support to complete secondary schooling without financial disruption.

Eligibility criteria and application windows for both the sports scholarship and the maths contest are published on Brookside’s community pages, detailing required academic performance, sporting ability or maths proficiency.

These initiatives complement Brookside’s broader community work, which includes school‑milk distribution and support for smallholder dairy farmers, and sit alongside the Kenyatta Trust’s Academic Scholarships Programme that has helped over 3,000 learners nationwide.
