A group of Brookhurst International School pupils toured the Nairobi studios of Citizen TV, the flagship channel of Royal Media Services, on Wednesday, 28 October.
The visit was hosted by senior media figures including news anchor Rashid Abdalla, who shared insights from his career in television journalism.
Student co‑president Stephanie Mumbua, known as Mumbus and the daughter of filmmaker Abel Mutua, led the delegation in her capacity as co‑president for the 2026/2027 academic year.
Mumbus, a boarding student at Brookhurst’s Kiserian campus, entered her final year in September 2026 after switching to the Cambridge International curriculum in January 2024.
During the tour, students observed live broadcasting and studio production processes, interacting directly with senior professionals to bridge classroom theory with practical media work.
Brookhurst International School described the outing as an immersive industry experience aimed at linking academic learning with real‑world media practice.
Social media users praised both Mumbus’s leadership role and the school’s initiative, noting the visibility of her public‑speaking skills after her election in July 2026.
Abel Mutua has previously highlighted the financial commitment of sending his daughter to an international school, estimating annual tuition at roughly KSh 1.5 million, which he considers a worthwhile investment for her academic and leadership development.
