Julius Kipkemoi Cheruyot, a mathematics and finance graduate from Maseno University, has publicly addressed President William Ruto and senior officials, asking for a permanent role in finance or accounting.
Cheruyot lives in Longisa Ward, Bomet East Constituency, and is the sole provider for his ailing mother and brother, a responsibility he says has caused depression and emotional strain.
He holds a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and Business Studies with IT, specialising in Finance, and has more than five years of experience in finance and accounting, yet he has been unable to secure permanent employment and relies on short‑term contracts.
His recent work includes an internship at Kenya Electricity Generating Company (KenGen) and a prior internship at the Kenya Forestry Research Institute (KEFRI).
In the letter, Cheruyot stresses that he is not seeking handouts but a genuine opportunity to apply his qualifications, hoping a referral or vacancy in the energy sector, such as at KenGen, could provide the needed stability.
He urges Kenyan citizens and potential employers to connect him with suitable openings, noting that a job would enable him to support his family and ease the mental‑health toll of his current situation.
