Angolan vocalist Lipsia has issued her comeback single “Angel,” making the track available on all major digital music platforms.

The song was originally recorded in 2020, before the birth of her second daughter, and was held back until Lipsia felt ready to revive it in 2026.

DJ and producer Necandy re‑imagined the original recording, adding contemporary Afro‑beat elements that blend African rhythms with an international pop sensibility.

Background to Lipsia’s recent career moves

Lipsia first signaled her return during an appearance on TRACE in South Africa, where she introduced “Angel” and confirmed her intention to resume a solo career.

During her hiatus she won the Show4me Independent Awards in 2022 and spent considerable time in Dubai, taking part in projects such as Dubai Fashion Week.

She has lived and worked across Angola, Dubai, South Africa, Portugal, Brazil and Russia, experiences she says will shape an upcoming EP of entirely new material.

Future releases and artistic direction

Lipsia indicates that “Angel” is a stepping stone toward a new EP that will fuse her Angolan and African roots with the diverse cultural influences gathered abroad.

She described the release as a “new sound, a new energy, a new chapter,” emphasizing that the single marks a personal re‑introduction rather than a nostalgic return.
