AfriSummit 2026, the sixth edition of the regulatory affairs summit for Africa’s pharmaceutical, medical device, IVD and diagnostics sectors, will be held from 28 September to 2 October 2026 at the Emara Ole‑Sereni Hotel in Nairobi.

The event marks the first time the summit is hosted in East Africa, with Kenya acting as the host nation.

Organised under the auspices of Kenya’s Ministry of Health and patronised by the Pharmacy and Poisons Board, the five‑day programme expects participation from more than 16 national regulatory authorities and notified bodies, over 100 speakers and upwards of 450 decision‑makers representing more than 25 countries.

The summit is split into two tracks: PharmaReg AfriSummit (28‑30 Sept) for pharmaceutical regulation and MedDevReg AfriSummit (1‑2 Oct) for medical device and diagnostics regulation.

Key themes and training opportunities

Agenda items will cover WHO Global Benchmarking Tool maturity, local manufacturing, clinical research, regulatory harmonisation, AI in health, traceability, and the fight against substandard and falsified products.

A dedicated one‑day eCTD training workshop will provide practical guidance on electronic regulatory submissions aligned with evolving African and international standards.
