International building‑materials firm ABC Group inaugurated its ABC Hauz showroom on Mombasa Road in Nairobi, its 18th outlet in East Africa and expanding its presence to nine countries.

The launch coincides with a rebound in Kenya’s construction sector, which grew 6.8 percent in 2025 after a 0.7 percent contraction the previous year, according to the Kenya National Bureau of Statistics Economic Survey 2026.

ABC Group’s Executive Director Mohammad Rijaz highlighted the firm’s long‑term commitment and called for stable policy to enable investors to plan and deliver value to customers and the wider economy.

The company aims to serve both commercial and residential markets, targeting core construction, interior renovation and finishing‑material segments.

Founder and Managing Director Muhammed Madani said ABC Group will evaluate local manufacturing and assembly of furniture, doors and windows within two years, seeking to bring affordable‑luxury products closer to Kenyan customers.

The Architectural Association of Kenya (AAK) President George Ndege warned that material availability alone does not solve built‑environment challenges, urging developers to engage qualified professionals and adhere to regulations.

In response, AAK partnered with ABC Hauz to run a “Build Hub” co‑working space that offers free workspace, technical resources and consultation support for architects, engineers and recent graduates.

ABC Group also launched two digital platforms: an e‑commerce storefront (abchauz.ke) and Finch, a loyalty and trade portal designed to track engagement with local artisans, plumbers and contractors.

Founded in 1998, ABC Group now operates more than 95 showrooms across India, the Middle East and Africa, employing over 2,300 staff in retail, wholesale and OEM divisions.
