By a Victim Gambler
There’s a silent heist happening in Kenya’s betting world — and it’s targeting everyday Kenyans who just want a fair game and a chance to win.
The culprit? A betting platform called Safibets.
On the surface, Safibets looks like any other gambling site: flashy games, colorful interfaces, promises of quick money, and a user-friendly deposit system. But behind the scenes, what’s unfolding is a pattern of alleged theft, silence, and deceit — all masked as business.
And I speak not just as a journalist, but as a victim.
First Win: Ksh 6,000 — Stolen
My first encounter with Safibets seemed promising. I played a crash game, won Ksh 6,000, and confidently tried to withdraw. The withdrawal failed. Instead of money, I got a pop-up message:
“Kindly contact support for verification.”
I did. I sent emails. Called. Texted. Days passed.
No response. Eventually, I received a vague excuse: “Your transaction is under review.”
Then silence. The money never came.
Second Time: Ksh 141,000 — Vanished
You’d think I’d have learned my lesson. But like many Kenyans who are hopeful, I gave Safibets another shot. Yesterday, I hit Ksh 141,000. This wasn’t luck — it was smart play, timed entries, and risk management. I had earned that win.
Again, I went to withdraw.
Again, the same message.
“Contact support.”
But there’s barely any support. You send messages — they leave you on read. You call — they don’t pick. When they respond, it’s a generic reply. No effort to verify. No solution. No payout.
This is not gambling. This is fraud.
The Pattern: Deposit Easy, Withdraw Impossible
Hundreds of Kenyans have now started sharing similar stories online.
-
You can deposit with ease — Safibets will never fail you there.
-
But when it’s time to withdraw your win? You’re ignored, delayed, or denied.
This isn’t a one-off glitch. This is a systematic trap designed to rob Kenyans of their hard-earned money.
Safibets is acting like a digital pickpocket, hiding behind betting licenses (if any), flashy promotions, and a fake sense of fairness. It’s rigged to profit from silence, confusion, and unregulated loopholes.
Where Are the Regulators?
Where is the Betting Control and Licensing Board (BCLB)?
Where are the consumer protection agencies?
How many more victims must speak up before action is taken?
This is a call not just to regulators but to Safaricom and payment service providers — why are you enabling a platform that has a growing list of unresolved withdrawal complaints?
If Safibets is not operating with full transparency, it should be investigated and banned from operating in Kenya.
To Other Gamblers: Be Warned
You may think you’re just one bet away from a big win. But on Safibets, even when you win — you lose.
Your money gets locked in, your calls ignored, and your dignity trampled.
If you’re reading this and considering using Safibets, stop. Save your money. You’re better off burning it — at least then, you’ll be warm for a second.
To those who’ve been scammed — speak up. The only way to stop this theft is to expose it loudly and publicly.
Safibets, we’re watching you. And we’re not going to stay quiet anymore.
