Four Arrested in Korean Couple’s Home Invasion in Kajiado

Detectives in Namanga have arrested four suspects linked to a violent home invasion targeting an elderly Korean couple in Elmarba, Kajiado County.

The robbery took place on February 10, 2025, at the couple’s residence within the Elmarba Full Gospel Missionary Church grounds.

How the Attack Happened

  • A gang of six broke into the compound at 3 a.m.
  • They cut window grills to gain access to the house.
  • The couple, aged 64 and 60, was tied up with manila ropes.
  • The robbers ransacked the house, stealing:
    • Four Samsung phones
    • Two laptops
    • Gold jewelry (necklace, bracelet, and wristwatch)
    • A solar charger
    • Over Ksh 260,000 via mobile money transfers
  • Before escaping, the gang dismantled CCTV cameras and took the hard drive.

Good Samaritans responded to faint distress calls and found the shaken couple with bruises.

Police Investigation and Arrests

Detectives from Oloililai and Crime Research and Intelligence Bureau (CRIB) launched investigations, leading to arrests in Mlolongo and Mukuru kwa Ruben.

The four suspects:

  • Daniel Momanyi Ombati (ex-convict from Kitengela Prison)
  • Mutua Mang’eli Masesi (ex-convict from Kitengela Prison)
  • Nicodemus Kioko Mwangangi
  • Silas Obwogi

Recovered Items

Police found:

  • Two TV sets
  • Two projectors
  • Three mobile phones
  • Crude weapons including crowbars, a hacksaw, and a steel cutter

The victims positively identified the suspects and some stolen items.

The four were arraigned in court, and detectives have secured custodial orders as they pursue the remaining gang members.
