Domestic air travel in Kenya is set to receive a boost after 748 Air Services announced the return of its scheduled passenger flights under the brand Fly 748.com.
The airline confirmed that it will resume operations in May, reconnecting Nairobi with key coastal destinations and marking a fresh start for the carrier after a period of operational restructuring.
The relaunch will see Fly 748.com operate scheduled flights from Jomo Kenyatta International Airport in Nairobi to Mombasa and Ukunda, improving access for both business travelers and tourists.
Airline officials say the return is part of a wider strategy aimed at strengthening domestic connectivity while supporting tourism and regional trade.
George Oduor, the head of Fly 748.com, said the airline is returning with renewed focus on reliability, safety, and customer experience.

He noted that domestic aviation plays a critical role in linking communities and supporting economic activity, particularly in regions that depend heavily on air transport.
Flights will be operated using Dash 8 Q400 aircraft, a turboprop model widely used on short regional routes because of its fuel efficiency and performance.
The airline has announced that fares will start from KSh 6,500 one way, making the service accessible to a wider range of travelers.
Officials say more routes could be added later depending on demand and market response.
The company emphasized that safety remains central to its operations.
748 Air Services has been working with the Kenya Civil Aviation Authority to ensure all regulatory requirements are met before flights resume.
The airline also holds the Basic Aviation Risk Standard Gold Status certification issued by the Flight Safety Foundation, which recognizes airlines that maintain high safety and operational standards.
Chairman Ahmed Jibril said the certification reflects the airline’s commitment to safe and reliable air travel.

He added that the company has invested heavily in safety management systems designed to identify potential risks early and maintain high operational standards.
The airline is also focusing on environmental responsibility as part of its long term strategy.
Since 2022, 748 Air Services has been implementing an Environmental Management System aimed at reducing carbon emissions and improving environmental performance.
According to the airline, the program includes monitoring emissions and introducing operational measures that reduce the environmental impact of its flights.
Passengers will be able to book flights through the airline’s official website, authorized travel agents, and ticket offices across Kenya.
Industry observers say the return of Fly 748.com is expected to strengthen competition in the domestic aviation sector.
More airlines operating on major routes often leads to better connectivity and competitive pricing for travelers.
748 Air Services has more than three decades of experience in aviation, providing cargo and passenger services to humanitarian organizations, government agencies, and commercial clients across the region.
Through the Fly 748.com brand, the airline is now bringing that experience to Kenya’s domestic travel market.

Flights will operate from Terminal 2 at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, with Nairobi, Mombasa, and Ukunda forming the first routes in the airline’s renewed passenger service network.
The airline says its return is aimed at making air travel more accessible while strengthening connections between major economic and tourism destinations in Kenya.
